Dear Ms. Maric,

Thank you for your message.

I herewith confirm the existence of a Bilateral Visa Waiver Agreement between Australia and the Netherlands. You can find information about this agreement on the website of the Dutch representations in Australia:

http://australia.nlembassy.org/shared/products-and-services/products-and-services/schengen-visa/schengen-visa.html?q=bilateral+visa&selectedLocalDoc=aus-passport-holders-in-eu

The Netherlands is part of the Schengen Area. Countries in the Schengen Area require visitors who are nationals of certain non-EU countries to obtain a visa that allows them to enter the Schengen Area. If you wish to travel to the Netherlands and you are a national of one of these countries, you must normally apply for a Schengen visa at a Dutch embassy or consulate.

Here you can find that as an Australian national, you can stay in the Netherlands for 90 days and consecutively visit one of the other countries that have the same agreement with Australia (Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Iceland, Italy, Luxembourg, The Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland).

I trust to have informed you sufficiently.

Kind regards,

Consular information officer
